Will Smith at the
Oscars? Childish. Plain and simple. When I worked at elementary schools, we
were constantly trying to teach kids that you don’t solve conflicts with
physical violence. Apparently, Mr. Smith still hasn’t learned these lessons.
And for all those celebrities who are defending his actions
as some kind of noble “standing up for your woman” thing? No. Still not buying
that whole “words are violence” nonsense. If you truly believe the man insulted
your wife or loved one, pull him aside and have words with him. Don’t
jump to physical retaliation as your first response. Or so I used to tell
kindergarteners.
Worst of all, I feel sorry for all the award winners whose
accomplishments were ignored by the media while they focused all their
attention on one man’s poor behavior.

So, Lia Thomas is
an NCAA champion swimmer. And why did we allow this to happen? Because “she”
identifies as a woman. I don’t agree. I don’t think she wants to identify as a woman, not an average, ordinary woman,
anyway. I think she wants to identify as a woman standing on an awards platform
with a gold medal draped around her neck.
I understand that transgender athletes still have a desire
to compete, but seriously, fair is fair. And watching some of these male-to-female
trans athletes dominate, it’s obvious that the situations are extremely unfair,
to say the least.

Glad to see that there are still some people around willing
to express their outrage at the Deshaun
Watson trade. As I said in a previous blog A
Writer's Life: Go (ADWFTH) Texans! (rdperryauthor.blogspot.com), as
a Texans fan, I’m happy to see him gone. I’m still shocked that Cleveland was
so desperate for his talents that they were completely able to overlook his
obvious baggage. Whatever happened to believing the woman?
Even more disappointing is to see someone get SO incredibly
rewarded for his own bad behavior.

Could the President (and Vice President) be more
incompetent? At least, Joe Biden has
cognitive decline as an excuse for his constant gaffes, but Kamala Harris? She just seems so
ill-prepared. All the time. And the cackling? I thought Hillary Clinton was
hard to watch, but I think Harris is even more annoying.

Congrats to Ketanji
Brown Jackson who will likely be our newest Supreme Court Justice.
Sincerely. She seems to be competent and qualified, and although I disagree
with almost all of her Liberal Left-wing beliefs, the Democrats have the votes,
and she will surely get confirmed. Based on all his previous appointees and
nominations, did anyone think the President would not choose a radical leftist for the position? Elections have
consequences. Just look at the price of gasoline.

The New York Times now admits that the laptop is Hunter
Biden’s and the stuff found on it is legit. Does the media care? Apparently
not. If you want to know how to steal/influence an election, consider how the
media hides true stories that could damage a particular candidate, while
constantly publishing stories that end up being false.
Just before the 2012 Obama/Romney Presidential election, the
media completely misrepresented the truth about Benghazi. What could have been
a huge scandal for the Obama administration was completely brushed off as a
spontaneous attack, and not a terrorist attack on our embassy.
Of course, watching him in the Senate the past few years, I shudder to think what a terrible President Mitt would have been!

For all the ignorant and uninformed who insist on protesting
about things they don’t even understand, the new Florida law has nothing to do
with saying the word gay. Seriously people, get a clue. What the new law
actually says is that children in grades K-3 should not be taught about sexual
orientation and gender identity, and all the adult stuff we waste time
debating.
So, honestly, if you think children this age should
be taught about sex and gender, what the hell is wrong with you? Elementary
schools should be teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic. Just my opinion,
but social issues should not be the focus of public education. Especially to
our youngest students.

Meanwhile in Texas, Beto (fake Hispanic) O’Rourke is already
accusing Governor Abbott of voter suppression. Again, for the ignorant and
uninformed, if you can’t prove who you are, and that you are a citizen, you don’t
get to vote. Simple. Voter ID laws are
not racist. They are essential to election integrity. My opinion.

Back to the Oscars. Sorry for those of you who think The
Power of the Dog didn’t win enough Oscars. (Personally, I didn’t care
for the movie.) I haven’t seen so many gay Cowboys crying since Brokeback
Mountain failed to win Best Picture!
Seriously, I pray I never lose my sense of humor. Or the
ability to laugh at myself. Have a great week and thanks for reading!
